They drop pretty fast when you slow down or come to an idle compared to when I had stock exhaust, and it seems that the overall EGT's are somewhat lower at cruise.
FYI, I've got the Banks Monster exhaust (4"), Bank muffler and no cat.
Need one more question answered. Have a 5in cat back mbrp system on the truck now. Will the cat delete pipe from puredieselperformance fit or will one have to be custom fabed?
i got my delete pipes today for the cat and the muffler. i'm going ot have the muffler one welded in, or use band clamps if they'll work.
for you guys who have done the cat delete pipe. what did you do with the support bracket that is welded to the cat inlet pipe? it's attached to the frame.
if i put this cat delete pipe in, i'll have lost my support at that location for the exhaust. should i make up a new hanger rod and have it welded on the cat delete pipe? i think they should start including something like that on these delete pipes so it installs easier.
I took off my cat and muffler friday. The only thing i dont like is when the truck is cold and i start it u can hear a lot oh air hissing along with the turbo whine. After a couple of minutes it goes a way is this normal?
when u un plug the egr valve when moter is of the default mode of the valve is closed so it keeps the egr gasses out of ur intake, mainly stops a lot of the carbon build up from the egr gasses, that plug up ports and passages it will through 2 codes but will not turne on the ses light you can clear the codes with a tuner, scanner, programmer.
I just stumbled across this 16 year old thread. It's very interesting in todays environment in which companies are heavily fined for selling egr deletes, etc on diesels. Knew a lot of guys who did that. It wouldn't surprise me if there is a hidden program in the new trucks that alerts that a mod has been made.
