if ur gonna go with a chip/programer i would seriously think of upgrading the pipes totaly you can get an aluminized system relatively cheap, you dont have to get stainless...just my opinion

i didn't realize that the cat actually did much on a diesel, i always thought they were more for a gasser.

i'm not going to poison anyone.

btw, i couldnt' wait until spring. something got into me, and i just had to order those delete pipes tonight and will put them in at my buddy's heated garage if the temps are too cold like they are right now.

I might wait for the cat delete pipe until after i find out what the next injector flash will be from ford. i never got the recent one and glad i waited.

Actually Ford just puts the cats on diesels because they are so flush with money that they need the tax deduction!!

mine will look nice hanging on the wall. hope the whole truck doesn't fall apart.
my state doesn't even do emissions testing on diesels.

Any instructions on how to gut a cat?

Man, does that sound nasty, or what?

69- maybe u should stick to the gasser section, our 6.0's run cleaner than the 7.3's and they had no cat, i didnt see you posting that the 7.3's should install cats on there rigs? as i can recall none of the big cats at my work have the kitty's on them either.... oh ya i forgot we took them off they made the trucks to quiet with the jake brakes on....lol

Big hammer and a pipe or piece of angle.. and a DUST mask. start beating on it for both sides and dump the gut on the ground..

Just did mine and I notice a differance. @ 1 mpg...

Anybody just removed the cat? Just curious, my older truck didnt have one, Would think that the CAT would be more restrictive than the muffler.

I am about to cut off cat and muffler. Will there be enough difference to put a larger 4 or 5" pipe compered to stock or is it not putting worth putting the larger pipe. Either way the pipe an cat must go.
