okay tonight i drove it and it was flashing alot when i was on the gas. what do you mean by electrical? could it be in the ignition or a sensor i don't have a clue
Yeah, it could be a sensor i suppose, but it could also be something like a shorted spark plug wire or a fault in the coil. That's what it was with my sister's car, a shorted spark plug wire one time, and one of the coil packs (1997 GM 3.8L EDIS) the other time.
what i mean by one at a time was put one in started up to see if i could find a bad plug. well after all done it runs just like it did before i started idles good, runs good at speed no miss.
So it was that last plug then? Whatcha gonna do now?
Sorry, I didn't see the 3rd page. I just fixed a problem with my Suburban and a bad plug wire. The sucker had been missing. I did all the tune up stuff with no change. So I put in new plug wires and all is good. Those wires had 180K mi on them so I guess it was about time. If it's a plug wire sometimes you can find the short by looking under hood in the dark. If you get any kind of light show at all then it's plug wires.
well the "new" plugs were all in pretty bad shape. they were all fouled so they were taken back to the store and got new ones. try again tomorrow and see how she does. but today and last night i have driven it probably 10-20 miles and no problems. last night the check engine light was flashing but tonight after work it didn't flash at all. i will let yall know tomorrow how she takes to this set of plugs.
thanks
okay well she liked this set of plugs. i took it for a drive and right after i started the check engine light was flashing and quiet often but the longer i drive the less it was flashing. then the last little drive i went on it didn't flash at all so she was probably still a little upset about this whole deal.
