heater cable problem

Can anyone tell me where the heater cable connects on an 80-86 F-150 with a 300? My (senile) mechanic apparently removed mine and forgot to put it back so I've been without a defroster for 3 yrs and am finally fed up with it. I can see where it connects to the switch itself, but I cannot find where it will connect on the other end. Please help.

I'm going to assume that the heating system is designed similar to '87 to '91 trucks, just because I doubt ford ever changed the design that much between the years. You should try removing the glove box, behind this is where the heater cable connects at the top of the plenum box to a small pivot arm that controls the blend door. I believe it is at the top, but this may be the cable that controls where the heat is put out. If so, then the cable is at the bottom of the plenum in the same kind of setup. Either way, once you have the glovebox off, things should be pretty clear.
