Are the heads still Cast Iron? I read an article speculating about the 6.4 before it was released that the heads are now aluminum. I hope they are cast iron.

The vents help to lower the under hood temps. Thereby helping the engine and related components to stay a bit cooler, lowering EGTs I might assume.

Well, at least they're functional and not just "styleing cues" that somebody thought would look "KEWL" on the side of the truck. I'm somewhere down the road somebody will come up with some anodized aluminum replacements for them so at least you can change them to the color of the truck.
