One of the site sponsors had the entire kit listed, I believe it was around $600. It included the master cylinder assembly, controller, etc. Once all of that is installed, you will need to have a dealer program the PCM; I do not know exactly what the programming difference is.
I paid around $450 for the kit. I installed the controller in the dash myself didnt want to pay dealer for that simple job and had the dealer install the new master cyclinder and reprogam the instrament cluster cost was about $200 The cluster needs to be programed so the truck knows that there is a controller installed and because thats where you see the warning messages pop up in the message center
I have used the Prodigy and the OEM controller on the same 5th wheel(14k#'s). The Prodigy was in a '94 F250 PS, the OEM in a '05 F350 6.0. The Prodigy was far superior to other aftermarket controllers that I'd used, and did a good job on the 34' Fifth wheel. I got the '05 w/OEM controller.
A few weeks later I had the "opportunity" (someone in a Toyota pickup trying to pull a U-Haul trailer out of control) to "panick" stop the '05+fifth wheel on I-5 on a down grade. I was extremely impressed with new '05 brakes, the controller, and the trailer brakes. I went from 65mph to 0mph in approx 200'. Not a single tire locked (felt like some of the trucks ABS control effected the trailer brakes) and the whole setup stayed perfectly in line.
Depending on what, how often, and where you tow the extra money for the OEM is justified.
OK. Thats what i thought. Mostly i want it to be good, and its nice that it 'goes' with the truck. Why do you need a new master cylinder with the OEM Factory kit? None of the aftermarket ones come with a new cylinder, so i was curious.
Part Numbers 5C3Z 19H332-BA(6.0L or gas with DRW) or 5C3Z 19H332-AA (gas with SRW) List Price $505.67. You'll have to quote Service on an installed price.
I have used the Prodigy and the OEM controller and like the OEM better. Though the Prodigy by far is the best aftermarket out there. Both are also made by the same company.
WOW. I called three service departments and two gave me decent prices on installing the MC and PROGRAM, but the other said it can't be done. The service manager then proceeded to tell me it cannot be done. I politely informed him that it could and that they should check into it, because they probably turn away good business telling them it can't be done when FORD says it be done and sells a kit to do it.
I cant blame you for wanting the factory controller, I have it in my truck and I love it. I will add a vote for the prodigy as well though. I had one in my '03 and it was by far the best aftermarket out there.

I can't Believe that. I'm Sitting here at my Desk at Crowley FORD in CT in the Parts Department and i could ask almost every Tech, Counterman, or Service advisor and more then 95% of them know about or how to install or the Part number of the Factory brake controler. Sound like you should steer clean of that place, i wonder if they even know what a ford is.....
yeah, i just told them that it can be done. Im not letting them do anything. If they dont think it can be done, then obviously, they are not qualified to do it.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Tekonsha (Prodigy) design the Ford ITBC?
I use the Prodigy myself ('cause I own an archaic '04 SD, so OEM is not an option), but the Ford unit is one of those rare OEM devices that people who use them swear by over an aftermarket equivalent. Go figure!!!
