Has Anyone Installed A Steering Stabilizer On Their 97-03 4x4? I Was Wondering If It Was A Straight Forward Install Or Something Better Left To Someone With Experience In Suspension?
I'm guessing that a steering shock isn't a common addition on these trucks as it generally shouldn't be needed.
Having said that, most steering shocks are easy to install. Just a few bolts.
I put one on my 97 f150 4x4 a couple weeks ago to help with the 285/16 i put on.Its real easy.Hardest part was to take the bolts out of the idler arm and add a bracket there.Tolk about an hour for the whole job.Good luck
I installed a Rancho rs5000,Youve also got to buy a bracket kit to go with, shock about $45.00,kit was about $40.00.IT has a large bracket to bolt to the frame using the same bolts as the idler arm, comes with longer idler arm bolts.
