Beeper
I am new to this forum and have a question I hope some of you can help me with. If so, thanks in advance.
My 2002 F350 has a beeper, buzzer, alarm thing up inside the dash that is driving me crazy. It alarms when the seatbelt isn't fastened soon enough, when the key is inserted into the ignition, when the door is opened and when I back up and the sensors see something three miles away. I would like to remove the beeper or kill it in some way. I found the fuse that it works on and removed it. I had to replace it though because the interior lights won't work without the fuse. I have looked up under the dash and cannot locate the beeper. It sounds like it is up pretty high. I don't even know what it looks like. I wonder if I remove the beeper, would it cause other things to quit working. If someone could point me in the right direction, I would be very very happy.
Now for my reasons and a little bit of complaining:
I am a power plant operator and I spend eight hours a day listening to alarms. I don't want to listen to them any other place. It really is annoying to think that the designers at Ford think I need to be notified that I inserted my key into the ignition or that I just put the truck into reverse. These things I should know since I am the person that did it. I agree that the seatbelt alarm probably reminds some drivers that they should wear it but I wear mine anyway, without the need for the alarm. One of the alarms is for when I leave my key in the ignition as I get out of my truck. So what? I don't need for Ford to tell me. The alarm that most annoys me is the one I get when I open the door. I guess Ford is telling me that I am exiting the vehicle and to please watch my step. Thanks Ford
Thanks for replying so fast. I will certainly take a look to see what I can do with the seatbelt minder. I have a Haynes manual and have been looking all through it for any information to help me in this and haven't found hardly anything. I will have a look in the Owners Manual.
The alarm that sounds off while backing is tied to the sensors mounted on the back bumper. They are factory installed. I am not the original owner. I bought the truck in 2005. It only had 18000 miles on it then. It now has 50000. Other than the stupid factory alarms, it is a good truck.

Like PHWLEE said, you can disable the seat belt minder by following the procedure in the Owners Manual. If that fails, some folks have simply unplugged the wire under the seat that connects to the bottom of the seat belt.
The key-in-ignition dinger, you can disable by following this thread:

The lights-on dinger is when you have the parking or headlights on, and open the door... if you want to disable this like I did, here's a thread for that:

Soon you shall be "ding-free."

I am now 95% ding dong free.
The ingition alarm was an easy one, that is with the instructions you gave me. I never would have figured it out on my own.
I want to thank all of you for your help. Now I can start enjoying my truck.
Lights are on...
Seat belt off...
Key in the ignition and such...
So, in the last post of this thread, -Disconnecting the seat pressure switch disables the seat belt dinger.. OK. Fine,
But does that tie in to defeating the AIR BAG?
Please, tell me it's not so.

BeltMinder
One time disable
Any time the safety belt is buckled and then unbuckled during an ignition ON cycle, the BeltMinder_ will be disabled for that ignition cycle only.
Deactivating/activating the BeltMinder_ feature
Read Steps 1 - 5 thoroughly before proceeding with the deactivation/activation programming procedure.
The BeltMinder_ feature can be deactivated/activated by performing the following procedure:
Before following the procedure, make sure that the following conditions are met:
• The parking brake is set
• The gearshift is in P (Park) (automatic transmission) or the neutral position (manual transmission)
• The ignition switch is in the OFF position
• All vehicle doors are closed
• The driver’s safety belt is unbuckled
• The parklamps/headlamps are in the OFF position (If the vehicle is equipped with Autolamps, this will not affect the procedure)
While the design allows you to deactivate your BeltMinder_, this system is designed to improve your chances of being safely belted and surviving an accident. We recommend you leave the BeltMinder_ system activated for yourself and others who may use the vehicle. To reduce the risk of injury, do not deactivate/activate the BeltMinder_ feature while driving the vehicle.
BeltMinder_ activation and deactivation procedure
1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN (or ON) position. (DO NOT START THE ENGINE)
2. Wait until the safety belt warning light turns off. (Approximately 1 minute)
• Step 3 must be completed within 60 seconds after the safety belt warning light turns off.
3. At a moderate speed, buckle then unbuckle the safety belt 9 times, ending with the safety belt in the unbuckled state.
• After Step 3 is complete, the safety belt warning light will be turned on for 3 seconds.
• If Step 4 does not occur within 10 seconds at the end of Step 3, BeltMinder_ will automatically exit programming mode without changing its enable status.
4. Within 10 seconds of the light turning on, at a moderate speed, buckle then unbuckle the safety belt.
• This will disable the BeltMinder_ feature if it is currently enabled. As confirmation, the safety belt warning light will flash 4 times per second for 3 seconds.
• This will enable the BeltMinder_ feature if it is currently disabled. As confirmation, the safety belt warning light will flash 4 times per second for 3 seconds, followed by 3 seconds with the light off, then followed by the safety belt warning light flashing 4 times per second for 3 seconds again.
5. After receiving confirmation, the deactivation/activation procedure is complete.
For the lights on dinger remove the light switch panel and disconnect the white wire with a red tracer.
The backup sensors will sometimes beep if they are dirty, or get frost/condensation in side of them, check for this and clean them if needed.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
This procedure took me about 5 minutes to do in the parking lot of the store while I was waiting for my father to come back out.
You can also access this black wire with pink tracer behind the kick panel on the drivers side in this connector.
You can cut the wire here if you don't care about being able to put it back together later, or if you have the proper tools you could pull the pin out of the plug and tape it up here.
This will disable the key in ignition chime. On some vehicles the drivers door will unlock itself whenever it is locked from the switch on the inner door panel. It can still be locked using the keypad 7-8 9-0 keys or the keyless entry keyfob, or by pressing the **** down manually.
Al of these pictures were taken in a 2007 f-350, but they should be comparable to all 99-07 Super Duties.
I REALLY HATE the key in the ignition beeping.
Some people that own trucks still live on farms and places that vehicles don't get stolen and some people actually can still leave the keys in the ignition.
I have my entire dash apart right now. Was very easy actually, without breaking anything.
I follow the beeper noise. I couldn't believe it, it is inside the gauge panel. I started to take it apart, then said naaah.
I thought I'd better just check FTEF to see if someone could just let me know what wire activated it.
NOW I know! Great!
Going outside to cut it now.
