I'm finally getting started on my 53 -f-100. It has original paint which is flaking off hood. Should I strip all old paint off or can I just sand good. If I have to strip ols paint- what method is best?

If you decide to strip the paint, I haven't found anything better than the Martin Senour Paint product: #6802 Water Rinseable Paint Stripper as carried by my local NAPA dealer. It is incredible - took only 3 applications and a putty knife to remove 5 layers of cured paint on my 48 F1. The paint just wrinkles up on contact - naturally, keep it away from any painted surfaces you need to protect!

Do you know if this senour Paint stripper will remove powdercoat?
I need to refurbish some wheels with powdercoat on them. Thanks!

Powdercoat is best removed with heat. At 400* it will melt. It can be removed with a common propane torch and wire brush. I have also had good results by sanding completely and applying a good acrylic urethane paint dirrectly over it.
