Can anybody tell a laymen how to adjust the steering box to get rid of about 4" of play? Second, front cab corners, where do I go to find these.
Thanks
There is a nut with a flathead screw in the center of it. Back the nut off a little but and turn the screw in a little at a time and test drive it. This is located on your steering box. You might have to repeat this several times.
Check out Dennis carpenter online for the cab corners. I don't have the address at this time.
The service/shop manual tells how to do it pretty clearly if you can get a hold of one. If the adjuster screw doesn't go in to far than you probably have to rebuild the steering box.
That's my 2½ cents.

I got a shop manual, parts for steering gearbox and lots of otherstuff from them.
one thing to add,, my steering box was very loose and i adjusted all of the play out ! BUT !!!!!! make sure the wheels are in the center position !!!!!! when making adjustment, and check all the other things ?? tie rod ends ,, kingpins for excess play.
58F100, I have new springs, tire rod ends, tried adjustment, it helped but I need to get an offset screw driver to get to the screw. Know of any one looking for windshield seal, front and back, I purchased a pair but I need the crome groove and a wrap around rear window. Cheap !!!
