Good point Dave, but when you are trying to put 302 headers on a 351W and poke it down and out of the engine bay you have to compromise sometimes.

I know, that's why I prefer the stock cast iron with just a touch of port work to clean them up.... Now if they would lower the price some on the extrude honing then there would be no problems at all!!!! Still, from my chassis dynoing time, the shorty headers don't really gain a thing over the good 351 and 302 cast iron manifolds, at least not enough that you would ever notice it on the street. I use headers on my race stuff, usually build them myself out of stainless steel and take great pains to make them equal length, and I always use a merge collector. Unfortunately, by the time you are done buying all the mandrel bends, tubing, collectors and figure in soms time to fabricate and tig, they are quite expensive.......
