I'm looking for some headers for my truck and was wondering if anyone has tried hooker headers on a 390 and a highboy any info would be great.

Thanks mike..

I'm waiting to hear some feed back too.
I have a 75 hi boy with a 460. Headman headers don't work unless you notch out the cross members. I don't want to do that.

Details say you have to do a 3" body lift for the fenderwell headers.
What was your experience, did you try without the body lift?

I have a little different set up 79 F250 4x4 351M 4 spd, (ol red in my garage) you just trim the inner fenderwell, that's what I did.

And I used cheap Heademen the first time, L&L going on next time, better product IMO

Ck out another post about L&L header's, there is alot of info in there about fit issues.

I put a REAL LONG informative thread a while back in here about the trials and tribulations of exhaust manifold/header swaps, in hopes of saving someone alot of headache.

Search eng might find it, if so enjoy, if not I can email directly to you.

I did a TECH post on a header install on a 76 highboy. I bought flowtech headers but it might help you and give you ideas. Type in TECH HEADER INSTALL 390 or look at the threads i started. LOTS OF PICS!

I have Hookers on my truck right now, I have a 400, so no specific tech info for you, but my set was a well built, very solid, nicely bent and nicely sealing product. Also you gotta want that back window sticker that says I (heart) my HOOKER haha.

i've run hooker super comp headers on my 74 f 250/460 for years and no problems, but you need to use a certain type of frame perch for their headers to work on the highboys with 429/460,the right side comes apart, but no quality issues or leaks, still have mine sitting in garage as i switched to fenderwells with my new motor, but they were kinda spendy
