SORREY KING, I've been away for a bit,Christmas, Alot of people run the motor when they drill the manifold, it blows the shavings out. And a little grease on the drillbit helps to catch the shavings as well. Some of the Autometer gauges have 2 wires from the trans sender, just hook them all in under the dash and everything will be good. Sorry again.

PLEASE HELP! I got all the guages hooked up, all the lights worked. I started it up and the pyro and trans worked but no boost. I shut it off took the guage out and it was crimped. So went and bought a new compression fitting and put it all on and made sure that there where no other binds. Started it up and still no boost. I shut it off again and took the hose off at the T Fitting and blew in it and the guage moved. Took the T- Fitting all the way off and theres nothing in there. I put it all back together and moved the tube around and still nothing. So the last thing that i did was take the Tube off at the drivers side of the fitting and started the motor up and theres no air. WHat is going on????

Hey King. Are you sure you have it in the right hose? It should be a black hose running from the y manifold up to the map sensor mounted on the front edge of the firewall/drip rail, overhanging the mtr on the pass side.---Gord.

It works, They dont make boost at idle. I didnt know that. I do however still have a couple of questions. My Trans Temp Guage barly goes over 100 Degrees. Is that normal operating temp? I drove it around for a while too. Also... People say they get 18 Pounds of boost, How come i only get 16? And my last one is, at what temp should i worry about my EGT? I noticed it depeneds on how hard im on that gas is how high it climbs. I think i had it around 600 and 800. That was the highest. To sum it all up, Whats normal when reading your guages?

Was planning on ordering ,pyrometer, boost, tranny gauges. After reading the info in this thread I see one said there instructions with there autometer pyrometer gauge said when mounting on PSD to tap in the post side of the turbo so if the prob blows it won't get sucked into the turbo and others say to tap pre turbo , ???

Tranny is going to be 60 - 100 above ambient, this time of year in MI you wont see much movement. Boost sounds about right for no chip. Egt should stay below 1250*

OK thankyou. Bowstring. I wouldnt recommend Autometer. After seeing what you can get at Diesel manor for the price. I payed 350 dollars for my set up. It was really easy to hook up. The only thing i didnt like was the straw like Boost tube. It was all wound up and it never got straight so that made it hard to feed it anywhere. Other than that im happy and i like the way they look. Next mod is, EXHAUST!!! lol. Slowly but shurley.

King Iv'e been talking to the tec's at Diesel Manor and thats where I plan to go they have the package deal with the pillar mount for $299.00. I was just wondering why Auto meter is suggesting to put your pyrometer prob post turbo and no other one's are.

Thats what all the threads say to do the prob preturbo I just came accross one that said they put autometer gauges in and the instructions said to do the post turbo I will probally do the pre turbo, leaning toward the band clamp in the up pipe not the drill and tape in the manifold.

Point of interest- the temp on the inside of the exaust pipe will be higher than the outside of the pipe, it will also be a slower reaction time, My recomendation would be inside. Thats just my opinion, and it really isn't that hard to do, it sounds harder than it really is. Put some grease on the bit, start the mtr, drill, shut off the mtr,put a small L shaped piece of steel connected to a magnet inside the hole and twist it around, run the tap into the hole, and your done. The post turbo will show cooler temps, so you have to adjust for that, and you are putting another obstruction in the way of the airflow, again, just my opinion.

Ok i ran Pre turbo. After reading the link you gave me... What is the main purpose? Is it that people are worried about the probe getting to hot and melting or breaking off? If thats not it is it the Temp Differences at which under acceleration or on deacceleration? Am i ok with the way that i put my Thermocouple?
