shes gone

well guys it's happened. big blue is gone! no more v10 super duty in my drive. it just got to the point i couldn't drive it any more with out sever pain in my spine.

now parked in it's place is a 07 mustang ponycar . 4.0 v6 5 speed stick. and very nice soft leather seating.. lite blue and tan inside. best part will be seeing how close to the posted 19 and 28mpgs it gets.

guess i'm going to miss it at times but hard times bring hard choices and big blue just had to go for smaller lines. and better mpg's.

Take the trunk lid off and you will have a truck again. IMHO

Well, that's gotta be hard for a horsepower junkie like yourself to climb in that little 4 banger Capt. But, I can understand the ride in that 350 getting you down. A while back I bought a crown vic and drive that whenever I get some serious miles to run, or just want to have a relaxing drive. I sure like stretching out in those Vic's seats, setting the cruise at 70, and not feeling the bumps or tar strips. 20-25mpg. I'd never be without my SD, but each vehicle has it's proper place and the products deliver as advertised.

I hope you stick around and thanks for your input here.
Good luck and good health
Mark

Have fun with the 'Stang

My wife thinks she wants one too but if we get one we'll be getting rid of HER Explorer and not MY truck

no joke guys! it's a 4.0 v6 5speed sticker. with out a payment book tied onto it.
i loved my 250 v10 to death. but my body just couldn't handle it's ride any more.

she's siting in a very good ford dealers lot on route 94 in warwick new york. 38k truck when brand new and now only worth 24k retail and 20.8k trade in .22 months later all because of this worlds love afair with a diesel powered pick up.

yep i'll miss it when i tow the boat with the wifes liberty. or when i need to hual a load of junk to the dump.

i'll not leave fte and this area as we all have become a big family and have a great feel of love for the brand name. like jason knows how to exhaust them, another knows how to super charge them. the rest this or that, seems every one has a little to help the next new guy with what to do or not to do. all so they can save hard earned that we wasted.

besides i'm still stuck helping out for the boss- a fte sponser, level ten power and have that fte sponser stuck up in the cornor now.
v10's rule the road we all know that. and this area is the tops and easyest for the moderators to handle

Glad you were able to find the Mustang acceptable in ride quality. Even with the 4-banger, it's got a sporty attitude. Sure would be tough to go with a "regular" car after all the performance years.

Oh, and to help you feel better...
I just filled up my truck @ 2.07/gallon... $62!
You'll never see that with your Mustang!

only $2.07 try $2.37 here. the v10 would need $100.00 a week.

no 4 banger! it's got 2 more in a nice v shape

It's kinda sad... but if I was gonna give up my SD, it would be for a Mustang.

The newer one.

Cap, do you have any experience with the '89-97 t-bird/cougar (MN12)? Does the new Mustang have as much back-seat room as the MN12?

Thumbs up

Hey Cap...sorry to hear about the loss. You had a GREAT looking/running SD V10 for sure. But a NEW 'stang is a fine replacement. Hope you have sometime to post some pics...would love to see it.

Ha ha... 2.47 here... 72 dollars, 29.5 gallons.... 10.3 mpg...fill up every 2 weeks if I am lucky.

6 cylinder, less than 30 bucks.... 12 gallons, fill up twice a month, maybe. depends on how much he gets into it....
