Ok, i have a 95' F150 and lost the speedometer/odometer in it about a 2 weeks ago, and have crawled all over the truck trying to determine if its wiring or something else?
The speedometer dosent move, and the odometer dosent even come on, and right now the OD light on the shifter is blinking.
so what is the PSOM exactly and what does it do? (car ignorant)
It drives the speedometer, odometer and sends speed information to the PCM (Powertrain Control Module). It gets its information from the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor or signal) on top of the rear carrier.
Here is a photo of the PSOM (Programmable Speedometer/Odometer Module): http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g91/subford/DSC02313.jpg
