Electronic speedometer....

Ok, i have a 95' F150 and lost the speedometer/odometer in it about a 2 weeks ago, and have crawled all over the truck trying to determine if its wiring or something else?

The speedometer dosent move, and the odometer dosent even come on, and right now the OD light on the shifter is blinking.

any help would be appreciated.

You either have a bad VSS or wiring on the rear carrier or a bad PSOM.
Make sure you check all of the fuses both in the cab and engine compartment.

if you do need to remove your instrument cluster go to articles/specs at top of the page and find the write up on how to remove.

like subford says it is probably a bad vss or loose wire or dirty vss.

than look into the psom which is on the back of the instrument cluster.

Was the VSS sensor on the top of the rear differential when mine went out. Check the wiring back there. My ABS light was shining too.

ok, so from what im gathering the VSS being bad would also affect the Odometer and the Overdrive ?

Yes it would and the PSOM would too.

It drives the speedometer, odometer and sends speed information to the PCM (Powertrain Control Module). It gets its information from the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor or signal) on top of the rear carrier.
