well i figure since i am hitting the big 6300 posts i outta post something useless so here is a recent update. kubota and i spent a good bit of time this weekend doing up my roll cage. i bought 150ft of 1.75 1023 which i know is a lot but i wanted to make sure it was darn enough! nothing like gettin in the middle of a project and run out of material!
so i punched holes in my garage floor and mounted my bender. well it took some time for us to figure it all out and i think we got it. i am sure you guys will tihnk it looks funny but i dont really care as long as it saves my hide! i dont mind admitting, i am TERRIBLE at math so planing out my cage design and all was easy until i had to start making measurements. then it gets real fun when we tried to figure out how much material it takes to make a 90* bend. yadda yadda, i think we got it.
i love that bender, i do have a couple of qualms with it though. i do NOT like the fact that you cant fricking see the mark on the die whe trying to line up the tube to the starting point of the bend! not sure what i am gonna do about that but i need to do something! also after spending a good deal of money (i know its relative but its quite a bit for me) they outta send the correct sized spacer that goes under the backing block! i mean come on!
i am already gathering the required parts to convert to hydraulic. its not the fact that its hard to actually bend the tube but i think i would use it MUCH more and get my moneys worth if it was more portable. if it were hydraulic i could roll it around anywhere i needed it to be and not bolted to a floor or in a trucks receiver hitch! i just couldnt see spending the extra $800 or so for hydraulics when i can piece it together myself.
i hope to have some pics up later of the cage. but i will put them up ONLY if everyone promises not to make fun of me! lol
i think the saying that would apply to the being made fun of thing.....have you ever seen a chain you didnt wanna pull? lol someones gonna but who cares

Are you making fun of my sig? Thats a direct quote from Admin in another thread in another forum BTW.
lol yea that is a great quote! esp knowing from who said it!
my cage is one of a kind and consists of 3 main hoops, both A- and B- pillar and a rear hoop towards the end of the bed. still working on it gettin the gussets in and working on all the supports.
i am gonna be helpd up though for the next week as we are moving and i am losing my workshop, hell i dont even have electricity right now where i will be keeping my bronco and tools so i may not be able to get anything done for a while!
thanx for the compliment. its been a long time project running but is gettin near completion. its pretty muh a trailer queen. i dont foresee wanting driving it much on the road. it sure does feel good though to be able to crank up and dirve it around!
