I put one in my 56 Victoria 292 and it worked perfectly.

On the flatheads, I think the 6 volt issue had to do with taking the ?pos? cable off to check if the generator was working. From there, I think the pertronix got fried. However, if you don't do that then you should be fine.

Pertronix

Put one in my 53 Merc a few years back, very easy to install, and it started and ran much better.
