engine cutting out
1 have a 1988 f150 w/ a 4.9 liter EFI. during moderate to hard acceleration the engine starts cutting out like it's not getting enough fuel. any advice?

replace the fuel filter it may be starving for gas

the air cleaner may also be plugged up and and not letting enough air into the motor

How does it run at wide open throttle? I mean does the problem go away at full throttle?

i replaced the plugs, wires, cap and rotor because i recently bought the truck and didn't know how long they'd been on there. problem solved!

what about the air cleaner and fuel filter, did you replace those?

i got a 91 with the same problem. i tihnk im gunna do the same and see what happens. i mean i replaced my fuel filter and it stopped for a day but that was it.
