What do yall recomend in the way of hunting boots? I'm looking for something waterproof, camo, and warm. Up until this year I've always worn a pair of wool socks with my justin work boots and froze my feet off. Last year after a particularly cold hunt my feet were swolen when I took my boots off. I want to keep it near or under $100. unfortunatly this is kinda last minute, opening weekend is this weekend, my dad wants to take me out tomorrow and get me some for my birthday (Nov 6). So I'm calling on the ford truck guys to help speed up my research.
thanks

New boots need to be broken in 1st if you are going to be walking a lot. Maybe your work boots are ok & it is your wet socks that is causing the problem. Take an extra pair & switch before your feet even get cold. Put the old ones inside your coat to keep them warm, plus your body heat will help dry them. My feet sweat so bad that I use a spray anti-perspirant on them 1st. My feet only get cold when it is below zero with a good wind & I only use a pair of thin wool socks in my ski boots.
I'm still amazed how warm my Rocky's keep me. I bought a pair of Rocky bear claws a couple years ago and have been extremely happy with them. They were a lil pricey @ $140/pr, but worth it IMO. I hate cold feet.
thanks, doing my own research I found a pair of Rocky's at the local sporting good store and am going to check them out tonight.
I have two pair of wool socks, and do switch them out, I learned that backpacking.
thanks

I use LaCrosse insulated rubber boots with layered socks, nylon socks, then thick wool socks. Sometimes I use those chemical heating pacts for feet. Rubber boots are the only way to go, they leave no scent as well. A good pair will run you less $100.
Uh, for me my working boots do fine. Deer, and elk just don't give a hoot what I wear. Now when the snow flies, I use redwing insulated boots. But mine are twenty years old. Damn, I bet the deer are going to boycott me because I am out of stlye! sheesh.
