This maybe nothing, but I just switched to BFG all terrain tires and I hope it is just the tires but when i apply the brakes or turn a corner the front seems to grind a little and I hope it is just the aggresive side wall and not the wheel bearings. I have 57,000 miles and never noticed this with the old tires. The brakes aren't grinding its just that the front end goes down or foward momentum cause a grinding sound in the front tires. Does anyone know when wheel bearings should be replaced?? Thanks again this forum always helps.
well, its not the bearings because they would grind all the time. it has something to do with the brakes or front end nose dive condition. i would put on a jack and rotate the tire, then apply brake and see if something is touching or a rock in the discs, ect.
Sorry guys 2003 Fx4 Supercrew and I kept the stock tire size I just went to the BFG allterrain. I believe it is just the aggressive side wall that when the tire compresses I am feeling the tread on the side wall through they steering wheel. I think that is what I am feeling, but did anyone ever have this issue with different tires? Also jacked up the front, no tierod play, no grinding when I spin the wheels and everything seems tight. Its got to be the tire noise.
