Question Grinding issue?, wheel bearings?

I have an 01 F-250 7.3 automatic. 100k on it now. I have replaced the stock hubs to Warn premiums, replaced brakes, ball joints, U joints, shocks, and had the tranny serviced 2000 miles ago. The dealer says the wheel bearings are fine but I feel a grinding coming through the floor on acceleration. It feels like a wheel bearing so would it be a rear wheel bearing? It also wobbles for a second or so when I first put on the brakes at speeds above 45. You can feel it through the steering wheel a little. What do I do now? Tie rods maybe? The front end is getting expensive so if anyone has had something similar I would really appreciate the info. Thanks,
P.S. I have had the wheels off the ground and could not get any play out of any tires, which is how I was told to check the wheel bearings. Tires were also balanced and rotated and that did not help.

The wobble sounds a lot like warped rotors. I've seen more than one thread here about that.

Unless they pulled the rotors and put them on a machine they have no idea. They may be thick enough with no groves but thats about all you can tell by a visual inspection. A wheel bearing would have a roaring sound that gets louder with speed. My left front is going out now. At highway speeds my noise goes away. A front bearing will get louder and softer when you make left and right turns. This increases and decreases load.

I can feel it at highway speeds more than at slow speeds. You can't hear anything but you can feel it through the floor. It does not matter if I am turning left or right, or if it is in 4x4 or not. It is constant above 45mph. What does a rear wheel bearing feel like?

Sounds like U joint getting tight. Check for rust around the caps.

The shake when you apply the brakes has to be in the rotors if all else is tight. I think your looking at 2 different problems. Check the belts in the tires. If you find nothing there have them rotated to see if it changes.

okay, so rotors will most likely take care of the shake up front, but what about the grinding coming through the floor as mentioned in the first post? Is it possible to have bad wheel bearings even if there is no play in the wheels? Anyone think it could be the driveshaft?

When you put the new u-joints in did you also replace the carrier bearing in the rear driveshaft? I doubt if it's a wheel bearing, like mech2161 was saying...you will hear a wheel bearing before you feel it.

I did not replace the carrier bearing. It really did not cross my mind. I will check on that more in the next couple of days. Thanks

Truck is fixed-

You were right mech2161, it was the front rotors. I had them checked and they were quite bad. I had them resurfaced for now, and the problem is completely cured. The vibration throught the floor was being caused by the brake calipers riding on the warped rotors. Thank you for your help guys. Next time will be new rotors I guess since these arent very good.
