Do not buy the Diablo Tuner for your truck. I purchased on and it woked great for a year. I loved the thing, untill my transmission started dropping out of gear. Unfortunately I did not find the culprit untill I had destroyed my transmission. The Diablo chip was the problem. I figured it out while I still had the old tranny, but it was already slipping. When I got the new trans installed it too started dropping from fourth and third into fist and second, but I removed the chip and the problem went away. I contacted Diablo several times during this ordeal, and they stuck with thier story that there is no way that a chip can have this effect. All I know is that if the chip was installed I had the problem. As soon as it was shut off or removed, the problem went away. I just hope I can save someone else the $2000 tranny rebuild. I dont know about the other chips available, or thier customer support but DO NOT BUY A DIABLO CHIP for your truck. I would rate it as the worst purchase of my life. If any of you have this chip and start having Transmission trouble, remove the chip and see what happens right away. Do not wait untill it's too late like I did.
I don't recomend chips at all, thier old school and generic, Programers are the way to go, and the best one for us is bama. Doug's customer suport is awesome and he's a ford guy who knows rangers. Everybody that has a bama loves it. It has the most power increase for the money of any ranger upgrade, and alot of us report better mpg as a side bennifit. Sorry to hear of your bad experience, I hope it soured you on chips, but not on prgramers. If your not to upset, drop Doug a line at www.bama chips.com, he also has a new phone number, Bob Jusnes knows it, he's a member here, Bob also sells bama had a very good price, you can view his site at www.jusnesmodified.com, Thanks for the heads up on the diablo chip.
