I installed a Diablo Sport into my F-150 2002 this summer and I was very happy with the performance increase! I never saw much change in the MPG but that was not the reason for installing the chip.
Just recently I have had the truck completely die at speed and in traffic two times. The dash dies the odometer dies and if you try to start the engine it won't fire. I had to park the truck put it in park and turn the key off and then try again and it would start.
I have also noticed some shifting issues in this same time period. I would hit the gas and the engine reved but the tranny did not kick in.
I set the Diablo back to the factory setting and it seems to be better. I am not sure what would cause these issues other than the chip unless there is someting going south with the transmission.
Any help would be appreciated. I did purchase the chip here.
Take the chip out and clean the contacts with ammonia. When you put the chip back in, leave the switch off (this will default the chip to the center position). Let me know how this works. Also, best way to get me attention these days (I've working a lot of hours through the holidays) is via www.motorhaven.com. I'm checking that email hourly whereas I'm not checking the forms as often.
