help: 4x4 low doesnt work
i have an 02 f350 diesel and i have shift on the fly, but it doesnt engage into 4w low for some reason. it engages into 4w high just fine but doesnt get into low. im not a genius when it comes to mechanical stuff but any ideas on what it could be? i guess its not that big of an issue since i'd rather have 4 high than 4 low, but would be nice to know what might be the problem. thank you-

straighten up the front wheels put the truck in neutral wait a few seconds then try the 4 low, sometimes if the driveline is in a bind it won't engage right away. it does the front end good to go into 4wd ocationaly it keeps everything lubed up

Check brake lights... Could be a Brake Pedal Applied switch

i engage the 4 low by putting into neutral with foot on brake, and keep front wheels straight and it usually locks in but i've tried the last couple of times and it hasnt work. thanks for all the replies i think i will end up bringin it into the dealer
