old timer, i think different people in this thread are referring to different parts of the headlight assembly. The front indicator only needs a bulb change. You can kind of se in the picture i have above that i use the SilverStar 3157 bulb, that has a bluish coating but lights up orange.
The side lens can be removed, if you so desire, and you can use a 194 bulb. You could use an orange bulb, as it sits in a recessed area inside the housing, so it wont reflect orange into the housing, or you could use a clear 194 bulb if you want that look. I have a 194 replacement LED bulb in there now, but the brightness is not the best, in hindsight i would probalby use an amber 194 bulb. Keep in mind that TECHINCALLY in most states this mod is probably not legal because you dont have an amber reflector on the side any more, but with an orange illuminated bulb in there, you are not likely to have any trouble. Most people dont even notice it (which is how i usually like my mods, subtle), but it really cleans up the front of my silver truck.
Jusnes one more thing. When you removed the side orange reflector, you wouldn't be able to use the stock bulb because it is not an orange bulb. So did you use an orange bulb or a stealth style silver bulb and if so what part # did you use? Thank you for your insight.
I used an orange LED bulb, which i ended up not liking. You should be just fine with an amber 194, since it sits inside that little slot, it shouldnt reflect any orange into the headlight when its not lit.
Thanks, Bob...I went back and re-read your post about removing the reflector....and thats when I realized that I was talking about the front/turn signal part of the headlight assembly and you were referring to the running light portion of the assembly.
Is the SilverStar 3157 the stealth bulb the one I see advertised at the top of the page from timt to time?

No, the Silverstars are a different bulb altogether.
In regards to Silverstars vs. Stealth Bulbs, the main difference is their appearance. The Silverstars appear blue-ish which many of our customers stray away from. Most prefer a chrome bulb to totally clear out their lenses. Also, Stealth Bulbs have a lifetime guarantee which Silverstars do not.
Check out the below 2 images to get an idea of how both Silverstars and Stealth Bulbs look.
