I will say that under... hmmm... "Big Booted Throttle" ahhhmm.. the ole 7.3 likes to talk quite abit through the 3.5 straight pipe and 6" stacks but if I just let her ease through town like I should anyway its not bad at all. From what everyone on here has said though, once my turbo is on things should quiet down considerably.

I'm not american, and the police here have better things to do. I live in the high arctic. The cops aren't concerned with noise, they chase the crack dealers around here. I just wanted a cheap way to get raw HP and some good MPG's out of my truck.

strait pipe isn't that loud without a turbo. i liked it whenever mine was strait pipe without a turbo. it sounded better and i loved the noise only time it would get loud is whenevr you got on it. other then that it was fine. i ran by cops and poliece stations like that with 4inch strait pipe and they never even looked.

Well then in that case, straight pipe here I come. How did you have your straight pipe setup there 1978fordf250? Did you just run 4 inch all the way from the headers to the back?

what i did on my truck when i orignaly bought it it had orignal 2.5 inch exhaust wththe muffler. well my first change was jsut put 2.5 flex pipe on the truck and try that out without muffler after a while of that (noticed a little gain in power) i went and bought 4inch strait piece of pipe then went and bought a 4inch walker tailpipe for a 200 superduty and installed on my truck (so where the Y pipe comes together it upsizes to 4inch rest of the way back). After i installed the turbo the downpipe was 3inch and all i had to do was put the 3inch downpipe into the 4inch pipe and now i got a 3inch downpipe into a 4inch strait pipe. Also my fuel is turned up alot. so yeah it keeps the people who like to tailgate away. I still would love to install stacks on my truck because with all of the black smoke it would look really cool with 5inch mitercut stacks on it pouring out black smoke pulling out of stopsigns and redlights (i have the chome stacks already) but i would have to cut up the exhaust i have already on the truck because its still like new.
