I recently bought a rebuilt IP and full set of injectors to solve a problem and ended up not needing them. I plan on keeping the truck a very long time and thought I would just keep them until the time comes when I need them.
My question is: how long of a "shelf life" do they have if kept in the original boxes in a clean dry environment? Should I take additional steps to prolong the "Shelf life" of these products. Thanks
They should last several years without any concern, problem would be if they were used after the purchase. There would then be road diesel instead of injection testing oil used by rebuilders and manufacturers in the items. Road diesel would/could have water/bio growth etc after a few years if conditions were right.

OK, so what should one do with a known good used pump and/or injectors to avoid these kinds of problems? Fill it with ATF or some other lightweight high detergent oil? The obvious answer would be "fill it with injection testing oil". I'm sure that would be the ideal thing to do, but I'm thinking that it sounds like a specialty item that might not be all that easily obtained....
For a unit used it would be a challenge to get protective clean oil to all the places required. The fact the main drive is accessible is a help, I suppose you could stand it on end with the nose cone up, fill the Ncone with oil, activate the FSS with 12v jumper system and rotate the main shaft. Hopefully some oil will come out the injection line fittings and or the return line, removing the IP check valve may help too.
Sorry I've never done it but there's my 2 cents worth.
That's good news. None of the parts were used at all. I just took the pump out of the box to look at it, then put it back. All the caps and plugs and plastic packaging is still intact. Thanks!
