Anyone done an EFI 5.0L conversion to F1 ; I am having difficulties with throttle pedal and lining up the throttle cable, the hanging pedal mounts half way on the cowl in the inner firewall, I would have to fab a bracket which would look unsightly. Has anyone used the origanl linkage with pedal mounted to tranny cover ? If so what is involved ?
I just installed a 4.9 inline with EFI into my 56.Pretty much the same tb.Your right the Ford pedal did look awkward and also did not line up well with my foot.So I went to the junk yard and got a pedal assembly out of a Chevy van.It worked perfect and the Ford cable hooks right in without any mods.It ends up being in the same spot as the orginal pedal. It bolts up right beside the hole where the original linkage went through.Only difference is that it's hanging.Hope this helps.
Thanks Herman I will look this weekend at Ch*vy pedals. I have the cable through the firewall but it has too much offset to operate properly. Will need to shorten it and lower it through firewall
Well
I now have three different gas pedals; all of which don't quite fit the profie of the firewall.
I can make a bracket that the assembly ; but may be unsightly. Has anyone else had this problem ? What is your solution, and have you pictures in your gallery.
I installed the gas pedal today; by modifying the bracket using standoffs to allow for the profile of the firewall. I'm happy with the result; will have to shorten the throttle cable. Will post pictures once complete.
Hey Tom,
I see you are back and working on your truck. I had a bit of a mishap and am laid up for a couple of months. but should be doing some more on mine through the winter.
