DFPE sensor location....?

hey all, I had the local ford dealer ship do a diagnostics on my truck and they said I need a DFPE sensor. Can t find any referance to it in my manual. I had it in the shop for some re-call work. What and where is this sensor? 1995 F-250 4x4 with a 5.8. thanks all.

It'll be bolted to the upper intake manifold. Has one electrical connector and two hoses coming off of it. Looks like THIS.

If there is an EGR valve position sensor on top of the EGR valve, there won't be a DPFE sensor. You can pull diagnostic codes yourself on that '95, just search google for "EEC-IV self test." Sometimes the same code can mean different things for different vehicles, but I'm not sure why the dealer would not know the correct meaning for your truck.

Eric is correct. The 95 5.8 has the EVP located on the EGR valve. No DPFE sensor involved.

www.fordfuelinjection.com has a good procedure on pulling your OBD-I codes.

thanks all for replying, I called the dealership and they didn't elaborate on it but said the part was 142.00 bucks. I called the local parts shop and they said the position sensor was 35 and change and the pressure sensor was 62 and change. Should I get them both? Not sure which , but I ain't rollin in extra cash so.....what do you think? thanks again all

If you don't see the pressure sensor mounted to the front of the intake manifold, and you see a position sensor on top of the EGR valve, don't waste time buying a pressure sensor. It should be obvious if you have one or not.
