Remote Door Locks On 2003 F250 XLT?
I recently aquired a 2003 F250 XLT. The truck has power door locks but there are no remote FOBs for the locks. I thought all XLT's had remote door locks as a part of the power lock system. All my F150s came with the remotes since 1997.
Do the 250s also come that way or are the FOBs an option. If they are an option, can I just but the FOBs, or do I also need the receiver unit for the truck?
Thanks.

You would have to know this guy. He is one of those that will ask you a question, and then right in the middle of the answer, he is off on another subject. Me trying to explain to him how to maintain his computer about makes me pull my hair out.
No he does not remember. He has two other vehicles that I KNOW had the FOBs, but he put them up when he bought them new, and has no idea. He told me to keep the two that was with my 150, and I tried to program them according to the owners manual while sitting in his driveway, but could not get them to activate. (I was parked beside my just traded F150 if that makes a diffirence). That is why I wanted to know if they were standard with the XLT.
He is one more weird at times person to know, but would give you the shirt off his back. Sometimes I feel he is "lame', as in your last reply, but I overlook that because he has always been someone who would give the shirt off his back.
SO, now you know why I asked this in the post. Before I bought more of the FOB's did I need the receiver that mounts in the truck.

No keypad on the door. The Advanced Security Group was option 60F and came with Autolamp, Autolock, remote keyless entry with two fobs, and illuminated entry.
To retrofit the truck adding the factory option is often the most expensive route primarily becasue you need a new GEM module. The best way to add keyless entry is to search for a Ford keyless/alarm system on E-Bay. I picked up a Ford Gold Keyless/Alarm/Remote Starter system for around $130 (if I remember correctly).
