JT and Alan are correct. It is pricey, but all you have to do is go to the one over world FTE home page to illustrate the point. There is an entire page of 7.3 diesel codes seperate from the standard ford OBDII codes. I don't know if this is because the 7.3 is not OBDII compliant or not but that is the world we live in. So what I am saying is that a standard Ford OBDII code reader will likely not pull all codes, if any from a 7.3. On the other hand, you have the free trial option because Wally takes back just about anything if it does not work. Just a little time on your part.

Ford vehicles have diagnostic codes above and beyond the standard OBDII compliant codes. Same goes for all other manufacturers. A traditional code reader will only read the standard OBDII codes. The problem is that if you have a DTC stored, it's normally a diesel related code, and it won't show up on a normal hand scanner.
Also, if you have a chip installed on your truck, none of the hand scanners will read ANY code, even if it is OBDII. AE is the way to go.
