Hey, Im purchasing a 6.9 with an automatic trans. The trans is set up for a 2 wheel drive. I was thinkin, could i use a C6 trans with a NP205 Transfer case??
The diesel C-6 is different from a gas model if that's what you're getting at. Reading your post again, maybe that wasn't what you were after. You want to use the 2wd trans with the transfer case? Might be a little tricky, doesn't that one have a slip spline for the driveline?

sorry for the confusion, I really have no clue what these motors have. Im brand new to them. My main worry is takin the trans that it has now and makin it capable of a 4x4 transfercase. Where can i find a Diesel C6? Pretty rare? Alot of money? I just need some basic help right now. Thanks
A diesel C6 isn't rare, all the '84 to '87, (I think '87 is the cut off, IIRC), Ford diesel automatics are C-6.
I'd guess the price shouldn't be very high.
Can someone explain the difference between the gas and the diesel c-6? I was told the transmissions are the same but require the right adaptor plate to the diesel engine.
