Just to make sure all the bases have been covered, but have you notified eBay of the non-delivery? They have an active fraud unit that may be helpful. They can also give you any other names the guy might be using. It is common on eBay to get another ID when your feedback starts to look bad.

I am sure you have done this already - but sometimes easy solutions are overlooked. If you have please post the results so the rest of us know the rules and problems we may face when dealing with eBay.

Maybe you could contact the buyer and explain what happened and he might be able to give you the seller's actual location, or you could have him contact the local law enforcement agency.

I don't know if this will help but you never know.
This by far, seems the best way.

From what Gabber stated previously, they don't have Fraud Protection on International Transactions.

Fraud protection is a insurance they offer (for money). There are time requirements that must have passed by now. And like you said, they do not offer it on international transactions.

But that is not the same thing as asking the fraud unit for assistance - just means they do not have to make up the loss. The fraud unit should still be interested in a member doing fraud - and should be willing to help the injured party however they can, short of making up his loss.

Let me fill you guys in on what I got. I went to one address where this guy may live, but the guy isn't there nor did I see a truck. I would give you more info but I don't want to mess this up by giving details. I will tell you this, I'm really close to locating this guy. I'm keeping in touch with Grabber as I go. This guy is very slick, but he's made a few mistakes that'll cost him. Plus, I don't give up easily.

Hey Grabber, there is a fella just north of me up in Detroit goes by Joey Knuckles.
But I think he only does local work. I'm sure if you do some checking there may be some Knuckles in your area

Smile Update

Ok Guys, just to fill everyone in , Ebay where no help at all, I have contacted the other buyers from his feedback , i did that very early on in the piece, but to no avail, maybe they just dont want to get involved at all im not sure.

Either way , with the help of a few of you guys here, (and ill let you know further details on that later) i was able to get another contact number of his other daughter and spoke with her husband , real good guy! and they feel terrible about what there father Harley Dow Green has done!, he believes he knows where the truck is located currently, and is willing to allow a Truck /Tilt Tray pick it up, he didnt say where but did say its at another relatives place. (talk about hiding a truck! ) anyway he has given me his email address and i have to try and organise a Tilt/Truck and forward the details to him and he will meet the driver there at the appropriate time and load it , then once thats done its then sent to LongBeach the original destination for the container journey!

I will keep everyone posted on future events and all my fingers and toes are crossed, and that this saga finally comes to an end.

Again thanks everyone, for posting with ideas and offers of help its amazing the power of the WWW.
Regards Grabber (Chris)

That's real progress, but where's the title?? Without that, I doubt it will clear Customs.

Would you believe i do not need a title to get it out of the country!! Yes its true, ive talked to the shipper and if i bring it in as a parts truck(not running ,missing dash, driveline etc which is also true) then all i do is pay an extra 5% at this end , as long as i have the import approval from the Australian Govt, which i have.
So the mission at hand is to locate it and get it to Long Beach once and for all.

Uh oh, there was a post about this truck awhile back. Anyone remember? I don't remember exactly what was said, but I know it wasn't positive. I just hope Grabber isn't going through all this crap to get a lemon. Good luck Grabber! I'd offer help, but I'm on the other coast.

btw, why Long Beach? Oakland and San Fran are just a few miles away, Long Beach must be 350 or so.

It's an 1 1/2 hours to drive south to Long Beach, maybe, from Valencia/Newhall/Santa Clarita & a 6-8 hour drive north to S.F./Oakland.
How do you come up w/ that the Latter is closer & the Former is further?
