94 idi with problems
okay i got a 94 f250 with the idi turbo, i installed the luk kit in it, i have been working on the body for the past 8 months, well i went to start it today had to charge the batts and jump it. well i got it running and the water in fuel light came on ihave no idea how to fix that, and the truck gets a tick in it, and if you floor it the tick goes away for a few mintues then it comes back you give it fuel slowly it gets louder, my oil pressure gage is almost to the H mark and it holds good presure even at warm temp. but the tick is about the drive me crazy i can not find anyone in my area that knows about the idi or a diesel. has anyone had this problem before. and my fuel lines are gray in color so is the injectors, and there are new glow plugs in the engine. the truck has 200,000 miles on it.

Take a 1x2 or a broom handle hold one end to valve cover and the other close to your ear. Now move it over each set of rockers to hear if it's a lifter if not try other locations till you find the right area to check.

Drain the water out of the bottom of the fuel filter.
If the engine has been setting for 8 months not being run, you may just need to run it with a double dose of Diesel Kleen in the fuel tank.
I would run out the fuel that is in it now, then do an oil change and fuel fuel filter change.
