Try putting in all of the bolts, & snug up with just a little tension on the hinge & then close the door. Sometimes you can get it pretty close this way, other times no. If not, then just adjust a little at a time to get the front, then the rear height, as well as the in / out gap set right, then adjust the lower hinge the same way.. You can also get closer without the door gaskets in place, but I would only do this if the gaskets are off already.
RocketR gave you the good stuff, now I 'll two cent you. I learned a lot about door installation when I put my 79 doors back on. It makes it a LOT easier to sling the door from a engine hoist or wood block it up on a floor jack. Take that load off yer back. ..
Also have someone hold on to the latch end of the door so they can "feel" how much your moving it. When you are on the floor wrenchin' and pulling on the door by yourself , it feels like you moved it a little in the direction it needed to get the margin right, yet it moved a lot more than you wanted it to. If you have good paint and want to keep it that way, put low stick masking tape on the door and truck body edges so the paint will not get chipped if they accidently pinch. Dont leave the tape on overnight. good luck. .
