Can I change my digital door combination?

I think that there is one factory "permanent" setting, but you can program a second one which will also work, and which can be changed.

On our 1996 Expedition the code for the door lock was inside of the cargo space behind the drivers side wheel well. I also think I remember it having directions on how to "personalize" it. Either way, I called a friend of mine at a Ford dealership and he told me how to do it and told me about this "hidden code". I can't remember (traded that vehicle in) but I do know it can be done... we did it. Sorry, not much help but at least you know it can be done.

The lock combo can be changed to your personal code. It requires the factory code + a number + your new code. I can't remember what number exactly, but it is in the owner's manual. As long as you have the original code you can do it.
