Look around the doorjam for a switch (looks kinda like a button), and wire the positive of that switch directly to the negative. This will permanently disable the buzzer. Just make sure that your doors are closed.
Wrong answer amish. The newer Fords have the door light and buzzer integrated into the latch mechanisim. You might be able to remove it there but I highly doubt it. That little button in the door jamb went out a long time ago on the Fords.
What I found anoying was when trying to listen to the CD player with the doors open while I was messing around outside. The constant buzzing was too much. Anyway of doing away with it for times like that?
wait a second here, you're saying that went away? so there's no doorjam switch? man that's weird. Most vehcles I'm used to still use that. Well if it's in the latch you're in for more work. gotta pull the door panel at the very least. Not sure on that one, sorry.
If you want to listen to your radio with the door open you can use a pen or screwdriver to close the latch on the door that hits the striker. Just be sure to pull on the handle to open it back up when you want to shut your door. It will turn the buzzer off.
Tha's a good alternative Arnold..
I have the cut-sheet for that "Door Ajar" switch on Left and Right, but it doesn't seem worth the trouble to dig through the dash and or door to wire in a by-pass.
