I wouldn't call this a wreck, but it's pretty funny.
I was drivin back up to college after coming home for the weekend this Febuary and it had snowed some. None some places, lots in other places, and just a bit most places. Well, I'm running up this interstate in my '95 F-150 doing bout 5-10 mph under, cuz the road had a dusting of snow on it. There's a plow truck clearing the fast lane, and I go around him. About five miles later, the interstate turns left and starts up a mountain and there's a pretty good bit of snow on it, so I slow down to bout 50 mph before I start up it. I get half way through the turn, hit a slick spot, the truck goes 45 degrees to the left, goes into the median, and the backend pivots clock wise around the nose, so the nose it pointing to the road. ( By the way, I KILLED one of those stupid reflector sticks ) The truck didn't stall and the factory CD player didn't even skip. So I set the park brake, get out and lock the hubs in, get back in the truck and rock my way back onto the road. No damage, no one hurt.
The funny part was that while I was locking my hubs in, the plow truck went by and the SOB driving it waved at me and gave me the thumbs up.
About a month after I got my license I was coming back from town going around some 25mph curves on the backroads (paved) and I noticed that the tires were squealing when I'd take the corners fast. Foolishly hoping to duplicate this on a 15mph curve, I hit it at mmmmm around 40 I'd say. I skidded into a sign and totally f'd up the entire passenger side of my poor little 93 escort. The car swerved a few times after the impact but my friend and I were no worse for the wear, although pretty shaken up.
I learned a priceless lesson that day and I've been a much better driver since then...
Driving around with a messed up car for the next year and a half or so was a good reminder and a humbling experience.
Well,I got rear ended by some dude in a Honda last night. No damage to my Mazda, but the guy refused to get out of his car to exchange info...so I took him out of his car.
well it was on praivate property but i suppose stil counts.
me n my buddy were wheelin an old suburban that we use on the farm as a workhorse, it was raining and we were goin wheelin, flyin up a dirt ( 5'' or so of mud when it rains) road and got loose in the turn and slid into an irrigation ditch, rolled it up onto its side. we just got out and pushed it back over and drove it out. it was rainin so hard that the side of the ditch was nice and soft so it barely dented the passenger door and didnt even bust a window
