always check your surroundings!!!!

hello everyone. well some of you have heard i was in a nasty motorcycle wreck last tuesday. a white van pulled right out in front of me and all i had time to do was swerve for his hood so thst i didnt smack into thr whole side of the van. i was gong about 55mph when we collided. i also tried to jump in order to clear his hood. AND i blacked out as soonas i hit the pavement.

as a result i have 8 fractured vertibrea a broken rib, a broken ankle, and a broken wrist. oh and a bit of road rash. i have had one surgery on my wrist already and am going to have surgery on my left foot as well. of and a broken tooth lol.

any way im okish and recovering but please always look both was good before entering the road. you may just save a riders life

now i am in no way mad or bashing on thr other driver. he rides a motorcycle as well. but please always look twice in both directions

Sorry to hear that, man. I've been down a couple times on street bikes, but nothing serious. I did have a friend screw up a wrist, ankle and his hip this summer after his uncle pressured him into riding a motorcycle. His brother had died in a MC accident about 10 years ago. Hope you mend quickly. Hang in there.

Glad to hear you are " ok " . I was rear ended by a drunk back in 91 . I was driving a GS650 Suzuki . He was driving an ElCamino . Guess who won .... I feel you . I made it though . Best of luck !

This is why I decided against a bike.

I hate to say that, but it isn't even safe to ride a bicycle where i live.

God speed your recovery, bro

Well it has been a while since I have updated this thread. Let alone be on FTE. We finally got decent internet at our place.

Anyways I am doing OK. I have been up and about for a while now. I am still in a bit of pain and sore everyday. And still can't drive my truck much because its a manual. But I am good. I am happy to be alive and mending slowly. One thing I have noticed is that my body does not like the cold weather right now. But on the bright side about this time next month my wife and I are having another baby boy.

Thanks for the update Micah...glad to hear you're doing better. Unfortunately...some of that pain will always be with you.

Congrats to you and your bride...another tax deduction is always a good thing!!!

Thanks ken. Yeah I know I will have some pain left over. But my pain hasn't lessened since I got out of my casts. But I am learning how to deal with it

Pain is a message from the body telling you:
"Please don't do that anymore"

I should know - various parts of me tell me when the weather is changing.

Hopefully over time your body will adapt and the busted parts heal back stronger.

Bikes are great, but offer no protection at all. I hate to say that - but it has always been true

Here in Tipton County TN a few years back just about an entire family got wiped out instantly while they were on a TRIKE, fer cryin' out loud. Somebody drove right over them all - like they were not even there. How someone can miss a VW powered trike is way beyond me. They are not small and inconspicuous - you kinda notice things like them because they are unusual.

But yep - nothing left but the relatives.

Anymore I think motorcycle and I instantly see myself with a leather that has a big target painted on the back
