It's from the Read First sticky at the top of this forum. Has any/all info on common mods you're looking for, and will give you a lot of ideas and suggestions and how-to's, etc.
KrenzyRyan, are you looking for an expensive filter and box setup that is quiet as stock and filters damn near perfectly, filter elements are $70+, or do you want a high flowing, COOL LOOKING, noise making (the sounds are really cool) and a cheap ($20) but well-filtering element?
The AIS is the best filtering element out there but I would recommend doing the Zoodad for more air flow that you will need when adding a tuner. As the member above stated you just don't add extra ponies without doing some other supporting mods first. I have had my truck for three years and have just yesterday ordered my tuner from DPTuner. The majority of my mods up to this point have all been leading up to adding more ponies. The stock muffler can be replaced with a Walker BTM from Napa for $40, and will give you 80% of the benefits of a 4" exhaust. Jody says the AIS/BTM is perfect for the 80 econo tune, which dinos at 103 ponies at the rear wheels, anything more I would go 4". You need the extra air flow to keep your EGT's down. Gauges are for sure your first step, then exhaust, then tranny than more ponies. If you don't follow this you will be asking for failures.
I just install the napa 6637 air filter and decided to do the ccv mod at the same time and what a difference in the sound of the turbo cheap fix and yes I think i've got p.m.s. (powerstokemodificationsyndrome) lol
