To my knowledge, there is no empirical data showing there is any benefit to doing the Zoodad, gasser or smoker, however, like any free mod, the mind set of, "it couldn't hurt" makes it worth all the effort!
Don't know if it's for a V-10 but I did it on my 6.0 Ex. It's about as close as you can get to ram air straight into the air filter. At highway speeds I think it would be advantageous getting cooler air through the grill!
I still show sitting IAT's over 100 degrees (25-45 degrees over ambient.) However once I'm moving, it drops down to ambient or near ambient. Not a bad investment at all.

Don't waste your time... My 2005 X V10's intake temp readings (ScangaugeII) are basicly the same as ReAx's... Actually once I'm out in the open road, intake temp is usually a degree or two below the exterior temp reading on the AC/heat control unit.
Also, Monsta did a experiment with his 05 X... When he purchased his SGII he found no significant difference in intake temps recorded with his zoodad mod AND with zoodad mod taped "shut".
Search Monsta's thread start-ups to see the exact "research".
BTW... I see from your signature you run a FIPK. Me too.
Dalpilot did IAT test a LONG time ago IIRC, and came up with a cooler intake charge from it... course we're in Texus and both deezles...
You would think a turbo'ed engine that compresses air would appreciate it more than a NA engine...
still, cooler air is cooler air and more dense than hot air.....
Up to you and whatever floats your boat - it's free - takes about 30 minutes - and no damage other than the "OH, it could....." warnings from some....
The mod was mainly for the diesels. I noticed a pretty good improvement in Turbo spool time, and the best advantage of all was the elimination of an annoying drone at about 70-73 mph - engine felt and sounded like it wasn't getting enough air. After the zoodad - drone nearly eliminated! For me, best 20 minutes of work I have done this year!!
