rear bumper bolts!

Hey Guys Ive looked high and low, but I cant seem to find rear bumper
bolts for my '65 F250.
The bolts are 9/16-12*1/2.
Napa no listing.
Obsolete ford out stock.
Local hardware store and home depot.
Local Ford truck dealership.

It seems that ford no longer makes them, and its up to someone to
buy up tooling and make them available.

This truck never had a bumper. And after finding one to bolt on....

(Finding bumper brackets was another challenge)

What else can i try?
1. Just use one size smaller bolt and lots of lock tite?
2.Wait ten more years so truck is more collectable?
3.Weld the bumper to the brackets?
4.Tie it on with rope and coat hangers?
5. Leave it alone? Then where would I put my FTE BUMPER STICKER?
THANKS IN ADVANCE, C & R

rear bumper bolts!

I would use plastic zip ties, they wont rust and are easily removed with a knife or a pair of cutters!!
Good luck. Do you have any bolt specialty businesses in your area?

John's F-Funhundreds lists rear bumper bolt sets. A 4 bolt and a 6 bolt set. Mine has one of those dealer added 200 lb Barden Bumpers. I am going to remove it and get one of those crome rear bumpers they sell, brackets and bolt kit. I hope it fits..

C&R,

First off, whenever you start to think about ordering your truck parts online or through the mail, your first thought should always be to order from the FTE Store on this website! There is a "parts search" box on the right of your screen. Ken sells all the parts that Dennis Carpenter has plus many more!! Not to mention the store is what keeps this website going.

On the bolts, if you need Ford Part Number BB17758 which is 9/16" x 1.5" then I may know someone who has them. I checked the FTE Store and Ken has them currently marked as "Not Available", but it does mention this being the size. It might take me a couple of weeks to get them, but if you would like for me to try then email me direct at danh@insightbb.com . These would be NOS and I would sell them to you at whatever they cost me.

Take care!

Okay, just confirmed today that one of my Swap Meet guys does have some of these NOS Rear (and big truck) Bumper Bolts. 9/16" X 1.5" and has a chrome head. I can get about 25 of them! Email me direct if you need some and can't find them else where.
