Cool thanks for the info. Just one more thing to add. Also what chip are you running with it?

Just to try and answer a few questions:

Jody does not recommend running a 10K/18K mod with his chip.

EGT's will run hotter with a 10K/18K mod just like a chip, after all it's more fuel.

If you are throwing a code, it is either an overboost code (0478) or your hpop can't keep up (P1211).

Autozone, Napa, Checker, etc will not be able to pull your code. You need a scanner that can read Ford diesel specific codes. Just about every off the shelf hand held scanner cannot do that.

The 10K/18K mod gives you the same risk as any other power adder. The more you play the more potential you have to pay.

As far as hurting anything, I did remove mine well before I got my chip. The reason is that during the time I ran the 18K mod, I went through two throttle pedal assemblies. When I installed the 18K mod, I tapped into the accel pedal just like the instructions show, and 3 weeks later, pedal gone. After replacement, I went 3 months, then put the 18K mod back in. A few weeks later, again the pedal went out. Replaced the pedal, removed the 18K mod permanantly, and never had a problem since. Either a huge coincidence, or the 18K mod was to blame.

However, if you like it and it works fine for you, it's a great cheap mod that's hard to beat for the price.

the one i have it diddnt plug into the pedal, just the icp. it is also adjustable so you can turn it off when you dont need it. it took me 5 minutes to install with no splicing. it runs pretty good with my hypermax 90hp chip. i get over 21 mpg and i have seen as high as 24mpg on a six hour trip with the cruise set at 75mph.

The 10K and 18K mods do essentially the same thing as a chip does, they boost the oil pressure to the fuel injectors, which puts more fuel in the cylinder which produces more power and black smoke. Also in doing this you will create higher EGT's, if you do not have a pyrometer you need to install one so that you do not harm the engine, b/c while these are cheap mods to do if you do not control them it could be really expensive to repair the damage that could result from them.
