Hey guys I was going on a trip last week and had to get the shop next to work to change the oil. I noticed that they used DeLo 15w40 I normally run Valvoline and have no experience with DeLo. Is it any good or do I need to drain it and go ahead and swap to synthetic.
Delo is one of the generally accepted "Big 3" of consumer diesel oils, the other 2 being Shell's Rotella, and Mobil 1's Delvac. It's widely available and as long as the proper weight was used, perfectly acceptable for your truck.
Boy oh boy, this 5-40, 15-40 stuff is all making me dizzy. Up until last week I have always used the 15-40 Rotella. Now switched to the 5-40 synthetic Rotella and it is a little harder to start. Could it be the 5-40 causes enough of an oil pressure drop to effect the HPOP?
Delo 400 is the only thing I have ever ran in my truck, never had any problems with it. A freind has over 300,000 miles on his '97 PSD and thats all he ever uses too. Its good stuff. No need to worry.
