Follow the example on the page I linked to in post #8. All the wiring stuff should be dead on. One additional thing, if you have a 4 wire O2 sensor stock, you need to change over to a three wire sensor and then run a wire from pin 49 on the computer to engine ground. Justin (MustangGT221) ran into this issue when he did the mass air swap on his truck, so be sure to do that as well as to split the sensor signal to both the left and right input pins on the computer, like shown on that site I posted earlier.

Ok cool, so basically if your doing a MAF conversion you have to do some pin swapping anyway......But just to clarify, do I have to do the rewiring if I use the mustang harness?

You can't use the mustang harness directly. You will have to re-wire if you decide to do this yourself. The mustang pinout is not exactly the same as the truck pinout, so you have to move wires to make your truck harness match the mustang computer, then in addition to that, you have to add the wires for the MAF meter and wires for sequential injection.

He's saying he's asking what he has to rewire if he's got the Mustang harness with a Mustang computer. In that case I don't think he's got to rewire anything.

That wouldn't be a problem if the mustang harness matched any of the truck underhood wiring. It would be more work to try to integrate the mustang harness into the truck underhood wiring than it would be to take what is needed from the mustang harness and stick it into the truck harness and update a couple of pin locations accordingly.

Ahh I see that what I thought.....Doesnt someone manufacture the premade harness that is required for this? Like something that is thust and overlay or perhaps already completed?

The Ford motorsports kit does this, but it comes with that large price tag...

I was just thinking....If I use a mustang ecu how will I in the future be able to use my code reader? I need the year, model and 8th number of the vin to use it.

The paperclip method will still work just like always. The code reader probably would work fine too, just tell it that the vehicle is a '90 mustang with whatever the engine code for the 5.0 is. You should be able to find the engine code (8th VIN character) on a used car website.

ok I hear ya. Now I have a 5.8 and I will be getting a tweecer, so I assume I will have to adjust the fuel tables and stuff right? Which brings me to my other question...at that point it still needs to be a mustang engine code in t he code reader correct?

Im new to all this so its alittle crazy, The reason is you said that the mustang harness wont work with the 5.8 stuff. I assume sensors are different, so will it still be able to run the diagnostic for a mustang and get the proper reading? Or will that code reader be obsolete after all this?

You'd be able to do all the diagnostics and tuning like you would if your truck were a '90 mustang. I don't think that the code reader would be obsolete, because the computer is from the same family (EEC-IV). The reason the mustang harness won't work isn't because the truck is a 5.8, it is mainly due to the location of the engine computer and the methods the engine harness/computer harness mates with the power supply, and gauge wiring. The plugs themselves might match, but in terms of placement, it's not going to work too well.
