I can always count on someone out there who has this very same problem/issue....
I've got an 01 Explorer Ltd, with about 50K on the clock. My problem is bumps!!! My god, this thing rides like a lumber wagon. I do not think tires alone can be the root cause. Could I need shocks????? I've tried to get the rear end to bounce up and down (to test for shock replacement), but it doesn't move.
Can someone give me 'some' advice?? I realize mine is a 2nd Gen X, and the 3rd gen have IRS, which is what I really want.....
Yeah I own an 02 X with IRS and its pretty decent compared to my dads 01 EB X without IRS. If yours has Leaf springs I would look at getting a new pair. And even after you change your shocks Explorers/Ford is known for a stiff suspension will generally be a rough ride.
WOW, new leaf springs?! What the F? Really??? I'm assuming it should be an after market thing such as Rancho or someother lift kit supplier??? Got any tips??
