Angry high egt low boost update #2

changed out my compressor wheel, cleaned intercooler tubes, (replaced one),rechecked boost tube. my egt's have come down some but not what i had expected. i understand that the WW will cause me to lose some boost, but i still never see more than #8-#10 going uphill empty running 60hp predator. is there anything else one could do to eliviate my higher than normal egt's and get a little more boost? my 6637 is ready to be changed but have opted to save for the severe duty. could my air filter be causing all this grief?

How are all your boots doing? Good seal. No leaks. EBPV open
all the way. No exhaust leaks. Turbo spinning freely with no bearing play. No wastegate problems.

I had to replace my wastegate with the banks big head. When I pulled the old one off the rod was just limp and I could pull it pretty easily. You might want to check yours since I was suffering from low boost and high egt's as well. Intake wouldn't cause that kind of problem unless it was SEVERELY clogged. That's a big filter and it can take quite a bit of dirt.

Replace the MAP sensor. You could apply regulated air to it and verify its reading with a scan tool. It's not uncommon for a MAP sensor to fail and exibit the syptoms you are having.

I have had the same problems. I found that my small exh leak and that I had left the exh back pressure tube off the front of the manifold caused high egt. Transmission that might be going did also, I dont know why. 430,000 miles

unplug the ebpv, then bungee the wastegate shut wait wait wait, what temps are you running? Check the fuel pump, low fuel, lots of air {lean} makes temps high. My fuel pump was going bad and I got up to 1200 at 80 with no weight uphil. I just replaced it and all is gooder

_*(&*&%^%#% I lost what I typed. I just ran yesterday in Nevada on 93 1st redline and GPS read 120 mph and 1030 degrees 20 lbs boost. Now normally I run 75 to 80 without throttling in at 670-700s and stays at 10lbs. Throttle in gets the air in faster and spikes the egts.
