I know some of you out there know the setup for the exhuast flames with the spark plug. I know there is a big post on this in performance and engine building but it really didnt help me. I have a 68 f100 with 360cid. could some one please give me really easy and basic directions for this set up...i have all the materials. 2 spark plugs, 14 gauge wire, switch.. where do i hook it up... the positive? and where should i hook it to, the solenoid? tahnkks
yea, ive done that in all the search engines...i have a 68 F100 FORD PICKUP though. These are instructions for some weird junk and its confusing. Im asking you all for help and directions.
Yes, That's what occurs when the spark plug is screwed into the engine head and power put to it.
The juice from the coil goes to the dist cap to the S P wire to the S P and sends a Spark across to the ground Tab.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 20-Jan-02 AT 03:19 PM (EST)]ok so. this is the setup i got. 14 gauge wire(i think running to the spark plug then to a switch. then the other side of the switch is going to the positive terminial of the battery.... so if i just leave it on ...say brick steps and flip the switch it wont spark... cus its gotta get grounded, right? also, when it IS grounded can i flip the switch and will it spark with the truck OFF or does it gotta be on. Im just wondering. Thanks for your help
Because you have direct power from the battery to the switch-switch to the plug. The Truck doesn't have to be on.
BUT, IS 12V over 20Ft on a 14G wire Strong enough to make a spark plug ,fire???
In a high tension lead on the engine there is what, 12,000-15,000 Volts going through them?
You would also have to a have a Un-burned fuel pushed to the exhaust tip before flipping the switch.
Only accomplished by a *Squirt of fuel* or shutting off the engine for a few seconds before flipping the switch.
A practice that could cause the purchase of a new exhaust system as you have just blown the other one across the planet.

I cant see 12v jumping across a sparkplug gap regardless of the wire size. Not enough oommpphh And I have to wonder even if you got the plug to spark by adding another coil back by the new plug would the exhaust actually ignite??? Maybe I guess, but I cant really say.
