C'mon please help
Good luck with your EXPEIMENT.

>120 volt ac(alternating current) that comes out of your
>house wiring and the DC(direct current or voltage) that is
>supplied to the spark plugs in your vehicle---the house
>voltage---120 volts ac WILL KILL YOU-----the electrical
>system on your vehicle Will shock but it won't hurt you at
>all---the basic voltage of yor vehicle's electrical system
>is 12 volts dc---It IS NEVER going to hurt you at
>all----Touch both terminals of your battery with your

>enough VOLTAGE to hurt you or anyone else--- Now the 12
>volts dc is fed into the coil and the coil takes that 12
>volts and turns it into 25,000 volts dc----this is what will
>SHOCK you----but it won't KILL----It takes that amount of

>what causes the gasoline and air in the combustion chamber
>to explode
Volts dont kill Amps kill, it seems like it takes less than 3 amps to stop the heart, how many amps is your alternator? stock is around 45? the thing is skin is a fairly good insulator for small stuff, I've also heard of people who have hit the wrong line, as in boom trucks going up into high voltage lines 30k+ volts it burned the guy bad!, blew his teeth/joints out etc... You can hear some bad stories working for sparky's. Stun guns go well over 100k volts and wont kill, so it's not the volts that kill in this case :7 :7

That's what the EDIT tab is for.

Below was Snipped because I understood what was said.
What I meant was I have been JOLTED MANY time with 60hz 110-120vac
My arms go flailing and I Always get Jolted Away.
If it Kills everytime a person touches a live circuit ,I'm either
a Cat or I've got a computer in Heaven with me right now.
Also, It makes me happy to have an electrician here to
correct my mistakes when i make them.

I've read the rest of these replies and have come to a conclusion:
Hire someone who knows something about what your trying to do. You do not have the basic knowledge needed to achieve your goals.
1. You will need a coil to create the potential needed to force an arc across a spark plug. A car battery has a potential of 12VDC. A coil can create a potential of 40,000 V. By playing with a battery and a spark plug you have only proved that you are no where near achieving what you're trying to do.

I have 14 guage wire with a 30 amp inline fuse going to a toggle swich, the wire goes from the other side of the toggle switch to the sparkplug end. The sparkplug is a short lawnmower one and screws into the tailpipe 5" back. The tailpipe is the ground. That's it!
Maybe you need to try a different sparkplug when you do it.
Good Luck -Dan
The sparking end should be in the tailpipe.
If you can't figure out how to attach it.
Find an Old sparkplug wire ,REMOVE the End that attaches to the plug and solder the wire to the clip, and push it on the sparkplug.
