There is no connection between the circuits worked on in the CC recall and your problem.

I just had same problem. Mine ended up being a short to ground in the reverse lights, which runs off same fuse. A/C clutch also runs off this fuse.

I am having the same problem when I shift into 1st 2nd or N, entire display dies. I'm constantly replacing that 5 amp fuse. Does anyone have any info on a cause and fix.

Sounds lit the OD button wiring in the shifter is damaged and going to ground. The one in our 2000 F250SD at work blows the fuse everytime that you push the button. No gauges, ETC. Yours must be bare on the hot side of the switch, ours is on the load side.

not sure if related

Don't think dash lights are on same circuit as cruise in my F-150. Just for the hell of it pull the cruise fuse and see if prog goes away.

Don't bother. The cruise is not on the same circuit.

Assuming it's F29 in the under-dash panel that is blowing, follow Jimmy's specific suggestion as it is the most likely cause.

Thumbs up constantly blown fuse #29 problem fixed!!!

LxMan1 you were right, I took the steering column cover off and the wire that leads out of the shifter had worn and was grounding out. I wrapped it thoroughly with electrical tape and the fuse hasn't blown since. Thanks!!!
