during the recall process of the cruise control i was having problems with my display fuse (5 amp) blowing every now and agian. after they turned my cruise control back on, it blows constantly. i have no speedomiter, fuel, rpms, *odomiter* (only plus in the bunch) but i don't know what to do. dealership wants more $$$ to look at it. b/s i say. any ideas.
I am having the same problem when I shift into 1st 2nd or N, entire display dies. I'm constantly replacing that 5 amp fuse. Does anyone have any info on a cause and fix.
Sounds lit the OD button wiring in the shifter is damaged and going to ground. The one in our 2000 F250SD at work blows the fuse everytime that you push the button. No gauges, ETC. Yours must be bare on the hot side of the switch, ours is on the load side.
LxMan1 you were right, I took the steering column cover off and the wire that leads out of the shifter had worn and was grounding out. I wrapped it thoroughly with electrical tape and the fuse hasn't blown since. Thanks!!!
